Horringer Community Centre which was opened in 1973 is the end result of a massive community fund raising effort and is widely acknowledged as one of the best village halls in Suffolk .It is home to a large number of village clubs, societies and organisations but it can also be hired privately for functions such as weddings, parties, dances and exhibitions and the village carpet bowls club meets here too!
Facilities
As well as the hall itself, there is a large and functional kitchen which has recently been completely refurbished, with adjacent bar area and serving hatches, a stage and small meeting room. The toilets have also been recently upgraded and there are now facilities for the disabled. There is also a large car park with designated disabled parking spaces close to the main entrance.
There is also a sound system in the hall comprising tie clip and hand held radio microphones feeding wall mounted speakers, and an induction loop for the benefit of people with impaired hearing.
The hall also holds a Premises Licence under the 2003 Licensing Act and the following Licensable Activities are permitted as Regulated Entertainment:
A. Plays and Pantomimes
B. Films
C. Indoor Sporting Activities (with restrictions due to type of building)
E. Live Music
F. Recorded Music
G. Performance of Dance
H. Anything of a similar description falling within (E) (F) or (G)
I. Provision of Facilities for Making Music
J. Provision of Facilities for Dancing
K. Provision of Facilities for Entertainment similar to that described with (I) or (J)
M. Sale by Retail of Alcohol for consumption on the premises
All of the above are permitted between the following hours:-
| Monday to Thursday | 09.00 to 24.00 midnight |
| Friday | 09.00 to 01.00 the following day |
| Saturday | 09.00 to 24.00 midnight |
| Sunday | 09.00 to 22.30 |
with the exception of the sale of alcohol, which is only permitted from 10.00 am until the end of the permitted hours each day.
Extensions can be granted for all licensable activities on Christmas Eve and New Years until 01.00 the following day.
Bar services are provided by a specialist provider and must be arranged through the booking secretary at the time of booking.
SMOKING is not permitted within the Community Centre

Here the hall is being used for a W.I. meeting with a visiting speaker.
- 115 - 120 people for a sit down meal
- 150 - 170 people for a dance
- up to 300 people in a closed seating arrangement
