Horringer Village Website

On the village green is the entrance to Ickworth House and Park, a National Trust property.

In 1795 the eccentric Earl of Bristol created this equally eccentric house, with its central rotunda and curved corridors, to display his collections. These include spectacular paintings by Titian, Gainsborough and Velasquez and a magnificent Georgian silver collection.

The house is surrounded by an Italianate garden and set in a 'Capability' Brown park with woodland walks, deer enclosure, vineyard, Georgian summer-house, church, canal and lake.

Real Lives: Ickworth Past and Present Project

 A very successful Horringer-cum-Ickworth Annual Parish Meeting was held at the West Wing, Ickworth House, on Wednesday 9 April, after which attenders were given a tour of the basement area of Ickworth House, where the Real Lives: Ickworth Past & Present project is being planned.  If Horringer residents were not able to attend the Parish Meeting, there will be a second opportunity to find out about this project on Wednesday 2 July - meet at the West Wing at 2pm for a tour.  And Karen Chancellor, NT Learning & Interpretation Officer, would especially like to hear from anyone who could help, or who has first (or second) hand knowledge of what it was like to live and work at Ickworth.  She can be contacted on 01284 747568, or email karen.chancellor@nationaltrust.org.uk

The Ickworth Hotel This newly opened hotel is located in Ickworth Park in the East wing of Ickworth House, but runs independently from the National Trust property.
